Nestled amongst the tranquil mountain ranges, Kallista Kindergarten provides a unique beginning for life-long learning through a program inspired by the Reggio Emilia philosophy. With a strong focus on nature, music and the value of learning through relationships, children are celebrated and encouraged to learn in an environment which fosters their self-esteem and natural curiosity.
Kallista Kindergarten adopts a Reggio Emilia inspired program based on the principles of respect, responsibility and community. Children are encouraged to learn about themselves and the world around them through self-selected, self-directed play based experiences.
Nature kindergarten has become a widely valued part of the Kallista kindergarten experience, providing children with the opportunity to play in a natural outdoor setting, encouraging an appreciation and respect to the complexity, fragility and beauty of the environment.
Music also features heavily within the Kallista kindergarten program, as music has been shown to build social inclusion, enhance wellbeing and develop thinking and learning skills.
We believe our children are capable, curious and competent and support and encourage them to become flexible learners, develop as thinkers and problem solvers and build a strong and positive sense of self and belonging.
